Observatory

A competition proposal for the observatory and planetarium in Hradec Králové. The building is wrapped in a perforated, back-lit metal skin - a star façade that turns into a quiet field of light after dark.

The proposal advanced to the second round and was awarded an honourable mention. Its central idea is the façade: perforated sheet metal, back-lit so the openings come alive at night as a constellation drawn across the building's surface.

As senior architect I authored the star-façade concept and worked on the building's layout - resolving how the perforated skin meets the interior and how the planetarium, observation and public spaces are organised within it.
